1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Relate ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Relate is operated by HotJupiter (Pty) Ltd, a South African company.

2. Service Description

Relate is an AI-powered behavioral analysis tool that processes chat exports, screenshots, and other communication records to provide insights about relationship dynamics and communication patterns. The Service is for informational and entertainment purposes only.

3. Consent and Authorization

This is important. Please read carefully.

By uploading any chat, screenshot, or communication record, you warrant and represent that:

  • Personal chats: You have obtained consent from all participants in the conversation to share and analyze their messages, OR
  • Business/work chats: You are authorized by your organization to analyze workplace communications and such analysis is permitted under your employment policies, OR
  • Your own messages: The content consists primarily of your own messages and you are analyzing your own communication patterns

You accept full responsibility for ensuring you have the right to share any content you upload.

4. Prohibited Uses

You may NOT use Relate to:

  • Analyze conversations without appropriate consent or authorization
  • Stalk, harass, or monitor individuals without their knowledge
  • Gather information for illegal purposes
  • Analyze content involving minors (under 18) without parental consent
  • Upload content that is illegal, abusive, or violates others' rights
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit the Service
  • Use insights to manipulate, deceive, or harm others

5. Disclaimer of Professional Advice

Relate is NOT a substitute for professional therapy, counseling, legal advice, or medical treatment. The insights provided are AI-generated observations based on text patterns and should be treated as informational only. For relationship concerns, mental health issues, or legal matters, please consult qualified professionals.

6. Accuracy and Limitations

AI analysis has inherent limitations. Relate may:

  • Misinterpret context, sarcasm, or cultural nuances
  • Draw incorrect conclusions from limited data
  • Provide different analyses for the same content
  • Miss important context not present in the text

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any analysis. Use your own judgment when interpreting results.

7. Privacy and Data

Your use of Relate is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Key points:

  • Raw chat data is deleted immediately after analysis
  • We do not store or train on your conversations
  • Analysis is performed by Anthropic's Claude AI (US-based)

8. Subscription and Payment

Free Tier:

  • Limited analyses per month
  • Basic features only

Premium Subscription:

  • Monthly or annual billing
  • Cancel anytime; access continues until period ends
  • No refunds for partial months
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice

9. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of all content you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process your content solely for the purpose of providing analysis. This license terminates when processing is complete and data is deleted.

The Relate name, logo, and Service are owned by HotJupiter (Pty) Ltd. You may not use our branding without permission.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Relate is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
  • We are not liable for any decisions you make based on our analysis
  • We are not liable for any relationship outcomes, emotional distress, or other damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the past 12 months

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless HotJupiter, its officers, directors, and employees from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of any third party's rights, including privacy rights
  • Content you upload without proper authorization

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to Relate at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the Service at any time.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of South Africa, Gauteng Division.

14. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will provide notice via email or in-app notification.
